Autism Spectrum Disorder (including Asperger's Syndrome)
An autism spectrum disorder includes a broad range of social and intellectual skill levels.
Children and adults can have language problems and language delays; some can have intellectual difficulties making it hard to learn life skills.
Children who were previously diagnosed as having Asperger's Syndrome are now considered to be within the autism spectrum. These people can be intellectually gifted individuals, but they need assistance understanding their own emotions, and those of other people, and interpreting subtle social cues and social interactions.
Our clinic runs social skills programmes for children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder. These sessions can either be run for individuals or groups.
Our clinic is a service provider for the Helping Children with Autism package, funded by DSS.
